A man accused of stealing from locker rooms and then using the stolen items to commit identity theft and credit card fraud will face an Oakland County Circuit Court judge next month due to him waiving his right to a district court preliminary exam.
Terrence Harrington, 40, is charged with 12 felonies — eight counts of felony financial transaction device-stealing without consent, and four counts of felony larceny in a building for a series of crimes reported last December at LA Fitness in Troy and Royal Oak, and Planet Fitness in Troy.

According to Troy police, Harrington was known to travel throughout the U.S. and commit financial crimes and theft-related offenses originating with thefts from local gym locker rooms. He’s also a suspect in multiple cases elsewhere in Michigan, and in California, Washington and Nevada, police said. He was extradited from Las Vegas to Michigan in February, and officials said the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department recovered evidence linking him to ID theft and credit card fraud.
Harrington is in the Oakland County Jail with bond set at $200,000. Arraignment is scheduled for April 2 before Judge Michael Warren.
