Inter Milan midfielder Andy Diouf scored his first-ever UEFA Champions League goal in tonight’s win at Borussia Dortmund.
Speaking to Inter TV via FCInterNews, Diouf thanked his teammates for helping him find his footing in the new surroundings.
Cristian Chivu finally snapped his barren run in high-profile games as Inter beat Dortmund 2-0 at Signal Iduna Park.
Though the Nerazzurri had to wait until the 81st minute to break the deadlock, they eventually pulled off a comfortable win.
Indeed, Federico Dimarco opened the scoring with a phenomenal free-kick from the edge of the box.
Meanwhile, second-half substitute Diouf put the game to bed in stoppage time with his second goal in Inter colors.
Despite bouncing back from three consecutive Champions League defeats, Inter will continue their European adventure in the playoffs.
Chivu’s men have finished the league phase a point behind eighth-placed Manchester City.

Diouf, who has mostly operated as a right wingback this season, finally got a chance to play in midfield.
However, he entered the game late, replacing Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the 88th minute.
Still, he needed just six minutes on the pitch to make his mark.
“We needed a win today, so I’m very happy about that and about scoring in such an important match,” Diouf said after the game.
“The group is helping me a lot to settle into the team.
“We’re preparing for the playoffs, even though we’re disappointed about the points dropped during the competition.”
