Aravali degradation: Encroachments, mining & urban sprawl hit ecology - study

A new study reveals that encroachments, deforestation, and urban expansion have severely damaged the Aravalli ranges, impacting groundwater, biodiversity, and air quality. The report highlights the weakening of the Aravalli's role as a green barrier, accelerating desertification and threatening ecological stability in northern India. A community-inclusive eco-restoration model is proposed to address these critical issues.
