New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez was regarded as one of the top 101 players in the NFL in 2025. This was only for 101-41 players, with the full list expected to drop this week.

Gonzalez entered the 2025 regular season as a Second-Team All-Pro cornerback. The 23-year-old recorded 10 passes defended, as well as one tackle for a loss last season. He picked up one interception, one sack and one forced fumble in the postseason for the Patriots, helping them advance to Super Bowl LX.

Pro Football Focus ranked Gonzalez at No. 95 in their appraisal of the 101 best players of the 2025 NFL season.

”After a slow start, Gonzalez finished the season strong, highlighted by an 86.8 PFF coverage grade in the Super Bowl. Overall, Gonzalez ranked 11th among 109 qualifying cornerbacks in PFF coverage grade (76.9) in 2025. He allowed a passer rating of just 57.0 when targeted, which ranked fourth at the position,” PFF wrote.

Gonzalez was ranked higher than Baltimore Ravens running back and two-time rushing title winner Derrick Henry (No. 98), New Orleans Saints Second-Team All-Pro wide receiver Chris Olave (No. 97) and the NFL’s leader in rushing touchdowns, Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (No. 96).

Gonzalez’s reputation as a shutdown corner in the NFL followed him into the postseason, helping him be named among the best in the league on the year.
