Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) was taken away by police officers in EastEnders, publicly accused of Anthony Trueman’s (Nicholas Bailey) murder after Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) dobbed her in.

Kat has been on a mission for months to rescue Zoe (Michelle Ryan), who is languishing behind bars for the aforementioned crime despite her innocence.

The pub landlady at first suspected Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman) of the murder, though this theory was largely the brainchild of real killer Jasmine, who pointed the finger at her former accomplice to divert attention from her.

Chrissie ardently defended herself when she returned to the Square this week, revealing that Jasmine isn’t the person Kat believed her to be. Realising she had been duped, Kat set out to bring her granddaughter back home, hoping to at long last get to the truth of Anthony’s demise.

Jasmine didn’t appreciate being lured back to the Square but after some reassurance from Kat she confessed to her crime, revealing that ultimately she acted in self-defence.

Upon hearing such a thing, Kat reckoned Jasmine would avoid jail time if she were to tell the police what she told her – and she was taken aback to learn there was video evidence to back up Jasmine’s claims, with Jasmine having recorded Anthony’s final moments.

Jasmine, however, fled the scene when Kat’s back was turned and, after some advice from Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf), the matriarch reported her granddaughter to the police.

As blue lights swarmed the Square, an unsuspecting Jasmine returned to the Vic with the murder weapon in hand, hoping Kat would assist her in framing Chrissie.

But it was too late. The police entered the pub and arrested Jasmine for Anthony’s murder in front of everyone, including the deceased’s grieving father Patrick (Rudolph Walker).

Jasmine urged Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) to find her phone, which has the footage of Anthony’s demise, confirming she acted in self-defence. The question is: who took the device? And will Oscar be able to retrieve it?

What’s more, has Kat succeeded in freeing Zoe?
