The national leadership of the City Boy Movement, CBM, has reaffirmed that Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, remains the officially recognised Director of the movement in Imo State.

This clarification was issued in a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja by the CBM Director-General, Francis Shoga, who dismissed circulating reports suggesting an internal move to review or overturn Okechukwu’s appointment.

He described the claims as misleading and inaccurate.

Shoga stressed that Okechukwu remains the only duly appointed and recognised CBM representative in Imo, noting that no new appointment has been approved or validated.

He added that reports of parallel leadership structures, withdrawal of appointments, or internal disputes do not reflect the official stance of the organisation.

According to him, the movement follows established procedures and due process in handling appointments and coordinating its state chapters.

He explained that any formal decision concerning leadership positions would be communicated strictly through authorised channels.

“The City Boy Movement remains a structured and disciplined organisation. Any ambiguity arising from recent correspondence is a ploy to discredit the integrity of the group.

“All our members remain united under a common objective of strengthening grassroots mobilisation and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.

”Our focus remains unwavering; mobilising support, consolidating grassroots structures, and delivering on our mandate in support of President Bola Tinubu’s vision for national development,” he said.

Shoga urged members and the public to ignore unverified reports capable of creating confusion within the movement, while reaffirming the CBM’s commitment to unity, transparency and organisational discipline across its structures nationwide.
