We’ll defeat terrorists; you’re doing an excellent job — Tinubu hails Ribadu”

President Bola Tinubu has hailed the national security adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, for his outstanding performance in the nation’s ongoing battle against terrorism and banditry, expressing confidence that the country will ultimately triumph over its security challenges.

Tinubu, speaking in Yola on Monday during the inauguration of projects by the Adamawa state government, commended Ribadu’s efforts and described him as a source of pride for both Adamawa and the nation.

The president declared his belief that Nigeria would defeat terrorism and banditry with Ribadu at the helm of national security.

“You are doing an excellent job, and the results are evident. With your leadership, we will overcome bandits and terrorists. You have shown honesty, courage, and dedication to the task. Adamawa is proud of you, and so am I,” Tinubu remarked, referring to Ribadu’s roots inthe north-east region.

Tinubu’s endorsement comes at a time when Ribadu faces allegations from former Kaduna governor Nasir el-Rufai.LEl-Rufai recently alleged that the NSA’s office procured a dangerous chemical, claims which the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has strongly denied, urging him to submit any evidence to the Department of State Services (DSS) for investigation.

The ONSA denied the allegation and asked him to supply any evidence he has to the Department of State Services (DSS) for a thorough investigation.

El-Rufai was also reportedly the subject of an attempted arrest by security operatives at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport after returning from Cairo.

He has further claimed that the attempted arrest was ordered by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), at Ribadu’s  behest.

During a recent television interview, El-Rufai claimed that Ribadu’s phone had been wiretapped, giving him access to conversations where the NSA purportedly instructed security agents to detain him.

The DSS has since challenged Rufai, who filed a three-count charge against the ex-governor for allegedly intercepting the NSA’s telephone conversation.
