ABUJA – The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, will on Wednesday swear in 14 new judges who were recently appointed to the Federal High Court bench.
A statement that was made available to newsmen on Monday by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Supreme Court, Dr. Festus Akande, said strict adherence to “dress code and security protocols” would be required for entry into the courtroom during the ceremony.
βThe Supreme Court of Nigeria appreciates the continued support and cooperation of all stakeholders in the justice sector as we work together to strengthen the administration of justice in our nation,β the statement added.
Those that will be sworn in as judges by the CJN are; Suleiman, Amida Hassan, Muhammad, Barau Saidu, Igboko, Chinelo Conchita, Onuegbu, Chioma Angela, Galumje, Edingah, Ibrahim, Vera Eneabo, Abubakar Musa, Usman Salihu and Aisha Yunusa.
Others are; Ikpeme Joy Bassey, Shehu Umaru Adamu, Mohammed Ibrahim Buba, Eigege-Binjin, Nendelmum Judith, Usoro Kuyik Uduak and Nwoye Osinachi Donatus.
It will be recalled that, though 62 lawyers applied to be appointed as judges of the High Court, the Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC) later shortlisted 28 of the applicants, from which the National Judicial Council (NJC) selected the 14 to be inaugurated on Wednesday.
