GCC Secretary General condemns Israeli seizure of West Bank lands

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, has issued a statement condemning in the strongest possible terms the decision by Israeli occupation authorities to reclassify vast areas of the occupied West Bank as state-owned property. This move is viewed by the Council as a flagrant violation of international law and a direct defiance of United Nations resolutions. Al Budaiwi characterised the decision as a dangerous expansion of illegal settlement policies that necessitates an immediate and firm response from the global community to prevent further erosion of Palestinian rights.

The Secretary-General further asserted that these systematic practices represent an aggressive attempt to seize Palestinian lands and undermine the prospects for a lasting peace. He urged the international community to take practical steps to hold the occupation authorities accountable and to halt unilateral decisions that threaten regional security. Reaffirming the Council’s long-standing position, Al Budaiwi stressed the unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, specifically the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
