LekeeLekee, a fast, mobile-first social media platform and super app, is now officially live on the App Store, Google Play, and the web, including as a Progressive Web App (PWA).

Nduka Obaigbena, founder of the platform, disclosed this in a statement sent to Vanguard on Sunday. Developed by ARISE Broadcast and THISDAY Media Group, LekeeLekee is designed to meet the realities of underserved networks and communities, offering low-data, high-speed feeds, video, messaging with voice notes, community groups, and built-in moderation.

Speaking on the launch, the developers emphasized that the platform was created to provide an alternative to global social media platforms, which they say often fail to reflect African culture and realities. “LekeeLekee is fast, fair, and open—a platform that amplifies voices rather than extracting them,” the statement read.

LekeeLekee blends the features of popular platforms such as TikTok, X, and WhatsApp into a single app tailored for Africa and its diaspora. The platform aims to empower African voices, connect communities, and celebrate African culture globally.

Founded by Nduka Obaigbena, the platform represents a landmark initiative as the first global social media platform built out of Africa, reflecting the continent’s culture and innovation while addressing connectivity challenges.
