Enough of dance, time to work – Oyebamiji teases Adeleke

By Shina Abubakar

Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has disclosed that it is time to work for the growth of the state rather than dancing.

Speaking at the endorsement rally for President Bola Tinubu and reception of National Assembly members into the APC held at the Freedom Park in Osogbo on Saturday, Oyebamiji said the state is drifting toward economic uncertainty, hence the need to restore it to the path of growth.

Recalled that Governor Ademola Adeleke is renowned for dancing at public events. The governor says he dances to appreciate God’s favour in his life.

However, Oyebamiji, while addressing the teeming crowd at Freedom Park, said in Yoruba language that it is time to work.

His words, “At a time when Osun is drifting dangerously toward economic uncertainty, administrative decline and consistent inefficiency, it has become imperative for every well-meaning politician, stakeholder, and patriot to rise above partisan divides and unite under a common purpose to rescue and rebuild our state. The task before us transcends individual ambition; it is about safeguarding the future of our children and restoring responsible governance.

“The progressive family in Osun must stand as one. Our leaders, youths, men and women, and all grassroots mobilisers must continue to work together with a singular objective to return our state to a path of growth, accountability, and inclusive development. Your decision to formally join us today reinforces the momentum we are building and sends a strong signal that the future belongs to those who are prepared to act decisively and responsibly. Osun ……Ijo too, …..Ise yaaa.”

Also speaking, the National Secretary of the APC, Dr Ajibola Basiru, said Governor Adeleke has shown lack of capacity given the humongous amount available at his disposal to transform the state into a prosperous one.

He said the governor has continued to hide under the cover of his sister, but the defection of the National Assembly members has shown that it is time to send him packing out of the government house.

Basiru, who spoke in Yoruba, added, “Despite the humongous amount of federal allocation the state gets monthly, our governor has shown that he lacks the capacity to lead the state to the path of growth.

“Now that five National Assembly members have joined the APC, the governor, who reportedly hides under the cover of his sister, would be sent packing from the government house in August this year.”

The lawmakers who joined the party are Senator Francis Fadahunsi, Osun-East Senatorial District; Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, Osun-Central Senatorial District; Hon. Oluwole Oke, Ilesa-North Federal Constituency; Hon. Sanya Omirin, Ijesa-South Federal Constituency and Hon. Taofeek Ajilesoro, Ife Federal Constituency.
