I'm a teacher of 10 years who turned cancer recovery into a coding journey. Here are my first 2 Android apps!

​Hi everyone,

​I've been actively working on mobile app development for about a month and a half, and I'm thrilled to share that I recently published my first two projects on the Google Play Store. I wanted to share my story and what I've built with you all.

​How it started:

I've actually been a classroom teacher for 10 years. In 2023, I was diagnosed with cancer. It was a tough period, but during my recovery, I wanted to turn the time spent at home into an opportunity to keep my mind occupied and my morale high.

​While looking for things to do, I started tinkering with Android Studio. I also explored emerging AI tools (I even released an AI album on Spotify just out of curiosity!). What started as a way to pass time eventually evolved into a genuine passion for app development.

​What have I built?

Currently, under the developer name "Olivia Play," and influenced by my profession, I've focused on educational games. However, I plan to expand my portfolio with different genres in the near future.

​I’m sharing this not just to showcase my work, but to hopefully inspire anyone who might be hesitating to take that first step. If you're wondering "is it too late?" or "can I do this?", I hope my story proves that you can.
