Tudor agrees deal to become Tottenham interim boss

Igor Tudor has agreed to become Tottenham interim head coach until the end of the season.

According to the BBC, following the sacking of Thomas Frank earlier this week, the club wanted an interim manager in place for the players’ return to training on Monday.

Tudor’s last job was at Juventus, but he was sacked in October 2025, following an eight-match winless run, leaving the club eighth in Serie A.

The last details still need to be finalised with the former Juventus head coach, but there is a verbal agreement in place.

The 47-year-old has had a varied managerial career, having led sides across European leagues such as Lazio, Marseille, Galatasaray and Udinese, among others.

Tottenham had several potential short-term options on their radar, with former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic and ex-Red Bull Leipzig boss Marco Rose among them.

Thomas Frank was sacked earlier this week, with Spurs five points above the relegation places, and the club will look to name a permanent successor at the end of the season.

Tudor could be considered for the job permanently if he impresses in the interim role.

However, former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is the leading candidate to permanently replace Frank, and his contract with the United States men’s national team expires after this summer’s World Cup.

Roberto De Zerbi is another potential candidate, having left French club Marseille by mutual consent earlier this week.

Tottenham are 16th in the Premier League table, five points above the drop zone, and have won just twice in their last 17 league games.
