Jeep’s Twelve 4 Twelve campaign continues chugging along as the company has unveiled the new Wrangler Willys 392. It’s the latest in a long line of special editions and it has a HEMI heart.

Designed to offer performance and value, the model slots beneath the recently announced Wrangler Moab 392 and starts at $69,995 before a $1,995 destination fee. While the SUV isn’t cheap, it undercuts the aforementioned model by $10,000 and becomes the most affordable V8-powered Wrangler.

Besides a 6.4-liter V8 pumping out 470 hp (350 kW / 477 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque, the Willys 392 has Dana 44 axles with 4.56 gearing as well as an electronic locking rear differential. They’re joined by rock rails and 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels that are wrapped in 35-inch BF Goodrich KO2 tires.

Speaking of design, the Wrangler has steel bumpers, LED lighting units, and a cold air intake hood with a water separator. Buyers will also find 11.1 inches (282 mm) of ground clearance, a standard Trailer Tow Package, Willys hood decals, and heritage 4WD graphics.

The model doesn’t skimp inside either as there’s heated, power front seats wrapped in Nappa leather. They’re accompanied by four programmable auxiliary switches, a nine-speaker Alpine premium audio system, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation.

Orders open in March and Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf said, “Our community has been clear, they want a Wrangler that returns to a more classic, back‑to‑basics formula, paired with the unmistakable power of a V8. The Wrangler Willys 392 is our answer, building on our commitment to expand V8 availability across the Wrangler lineup.”
