Kampo ni Bong Revilla supalpal kay Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon

Pinagsabihan ni Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon ang kampo ni dating Senador Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. na hindi sa media kungdi ang Department of Justice (DOJ) ang tamang forum sa mga usapin na may kinalaman sa kasong plunder na kinakaharap nito kaugnay ng flood control scam.

Sinabi ito ni Fadullon kasunod ng mga pahayag ng abogado ni Revilla pagkatapos ng preliminary investigation ng DOJ sa kasong plunder nitong Huwebes, Pebrero 12.

Una rito ay inihayag ng abogado ni Revilla na si Atty. Francesca Señga na nagsumite sila ng counter-affidavit sa DOJ kaugnay ng mga reklamong plunder, paglabag sa Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, direct bribery and receiving of gifts by public officers, at corruption of public officers.

Kapwa akusado ni Revilla sina dating Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo, dating Bulacan District Engineer Henry Alcantara, at dating Regional Director Gerard Opulencia, kasama ang ilang John/Jane Does.

Iginiit ni Señga na may “inconsistencies” sa mga pahayag ni Bernardo at kinuwestiyon na tila si Revilla na lamang ang matitirang akusado matapos mapabilang sa Witness Protection Program (WPP) sina Bernardo, Alcantara, at Opulencia.

“We will have to review the documents and the team will have to discuss. The legal team will have to discuss these new developments,” pahayag ni Señga sa panayam ng media.

Nagbigay naman ng reaksyon hinggil dito si Fadullon.

“Media is not the proper forum to be addressing these matters,” wika ni Fadullon. “If respondents’ counsel believes what she says, then she should just raise it in their counter-affidavit and not address it to the media.

Nilinaw naman ng DOH na hindi awtomatikong exempted na sa paghahain ng counter-affidavit ang mga akusado sa isang criminal complaint kahit pa tinanggap na sila bilang mga state witness.

“If a respondent has been admitted as a state witness into the WPP, they must allege such fact as a matter of defense in their respective counter-affidavits,” ayon kay DOJ spokesperson Atty. Polo Martinez.

Bahagi aniya ng proseso ng WPP na ang mga akusadong state witness ay kinakailangan na magsumite sa prosecution panel ng kopya ng Certificate of Materiality mula sa WPPP.

“Only upon fulfillment of these requirements will the panel discharge them from the filing of the case in court, if ever,” paliwanag pa ni Martinez.
