The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) says a fully loaded diesel tanker overturned and caught fire late Wednesday night along the Abeokuta Motorway inward Agege.
Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos.
He said the fire was immediately contained, “while residual product burning in the drainage is being addressed.”
LASEMA officials and sister agencies curtailed a tanker fire on Abeokuta Motorway inward to Agege on Wednesday night.
He said there were no fatalities. “One male sustained burn injuries and is currently receiving treatment.”
Oke-Osanyintolu disclosed that although the tanker was damaged, the fire did not spread to surrounding properties.
“LASEMA is coordinating a multi-agency response with the Fire Service, Police, and LASTMA,” he said. (NAN)
