What happens in the Vladimir trailer?

“It’s come to my attention that I’ve just lost the ability to captivate,” Weisz’s unnamed protagonist says in the trailer. Weisz’s character, an English professor, feels unwanted and undesired in her personal and professional life. To make matters worse, her husband, John (John Slattery), has been suspended from their college after being hit with sexual assault allegations.

The protagonist’s life is turned upside down when she meets Vladimir (Woodall), an attractive teacher who becomes the subject of her obsession. The protagonist finds herself fantasizing about Vladimir so much that her life spirals out of control.

“I can’t let him slip away,” the protagonist explains in the trailer.

Vladimir also stars Ellen Robertson as Sid and Jessica Henwick as Cynthia. Additional cast members include Matt Walsh, Kayli Carter, Miriam Silverman, Mallori Johnson, Tattiawna Jones, and Louise Lambert.

Vladimir is written and created by Julia May Jonas, the author of the book that serves as the show’s source material. Executive producers include Jonas, Weisz, Sharon Horgan, Stacy Greenberg, Kira Carstensen, Jason Wine, Jon Radler, Shari Springer Berman, and Robert Pulcini.

Vladimir consists of eight episodes. The show’s directors include Francesca Gregorini, Josephine Bornebusch, and Springer Berman & Pulcini.

Vladimir streams on Netflix on March 5, 2026.
