A release date window for the Spider-Noir TV show has been announced.

Spider-Noir is a forthcoming superhero series that stars Nicolas Cage. Coming from co-showrunners Steve Lightfoot and Oren Uziel, the series serves as a spin-off to the Spider-Man alternate universes that were first established in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

When is the release date window for Spider-Noir?

According to a recent feature published by Esquire Magazine, Spider-Noir will premiere on Prime Video at some point this spring.

An exact date has not yet been announced. A press release from Amazon MGM Studios states that the series, which can be watched in either black-and-white or color, will first debut domestically on MGM+’s linear channel before it’s then made available globally on Prime Video the next day.

A synopsis for the show reads, “Spider-Noir is a live-action series based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir. Spider-Noir tells the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”

Cage previously voiced Spider-Noir in Into the Spider-Verse; however, that version of Spider-Man was a Peter Parker variant, while the character he’s playing in Spider-Noir will be Ben Reilly. The reason for the change in identity will be explained in the show.

In addition to Cage, the cast includes Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, and Jack Huston. Guest star cast includes Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Caster.

Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve) directs the first two episodes of Spider-Noir, which is produced by Sony Pictures Television. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller serve as executive producers alongside Bradbeer, Uziel, Lightfoot, Aditya Sood, Dan Shear, and Amy Pascal.
