With a proven insider also claiming to know of The Witcher 3’s rumoured DLC, all that’s left is for CD Projekt to officially announce it.
While CD Projekt has yet to confirm anything, it’s widely believed that DLC for The Witcher 3 is in the works as part of a marketing push for The Witcher 4, which could be launching as early as next year.
The primary source of this claim is Polish analyst Mateusz Chrzanowski, who has repeatedly insisted that a ‘paid add-on’ for The Witcher 3 is launching this May, almost a decade after the last DLC expansion, Blood & Wine.
A couple of gaming websites have since chimed in to say they’ve heard similar rumblings of DLC and now, one of gaming’s most reliable insiders has confirmed they too have heard of its existence.
NateTheHate has proven particularly accurate in recent weeks, correctly sharing details of when the latest Nintendo Direct and State of Play showcases would air and even getting right the exact date Nintendo would first show off the Nintendo Switch 2.
When asked on X if he had heard anything regarding The Witcher 3’s rumoured DLC, NateTheHate admitted: ‘I have; but am working to confirm details further.’

Several people have already taken this as confirmation of the DLC’s existence and, frankly, there’s far too much smoke at this point for it to not be real. The bigger question is exactly when CD Projekt will confirm it.
It is possible it could feature at the State of Play this week, which is also speculated to announce a new God Of War. A Summer Game Fest reveal in June has been suggested too, though that’d be too late if Chrzanowski’s claim of a May release is accurate.
Fans have also recently latched onto comments by Chrzanowski about the DLC’s sales target and budget, which come from a report by Polish outlet Strefa Inwestorów, made two months ago.
There, Chrzanowski predicted the DLC will be sold at $30 and sell around 11 million units. $30 is about £22, which is slightly more than the £19.99 price tag for The Witcher 3’s expansion pass costs, which includes both the Hearts Of Stone and Blood Of Wine expansions.

This would point to this new DLC being far more sizeable and perhaps more in-line with Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion, which costs £24.99. Either that or it’s just inflation.
Chrzanowski believes the DLC’s budget is an estimated 52 million złoty, which is roughly £10 million and significantly less than the roughly $85 million (about £61 million) CD Projekt spent on making and marketing Phantom Liberty.
In the meantime, one fan, known as Fandera, has made their own Witcher 3 DLC via modding; one directly inspired by The Witcher 4’s announcement trailer. It turns Geralt’s adoptive daughter Ciri into a playable character (ahead of her taking the starring role in The Witcher 4) and even adds a new region.
‘While hunting monsters, Ciri increasingly finds them not in the forests, but in people. Disillusioned with humanity, she balances between compassion and rage. Will the witcheress be able to master her anger and avoid becoming a monster herself?’ reads the NexusMods description.
