Electronic transmission: Senators arrive for emergency sitting (VIDEO)

Senators have started arriving for an emergency sitting at the National Assembly over the real-time transmission of election results.

DAILY POST recalls that the Senate last week stated that it would have an emergency sitting today (Tuesday)

The sitting is believed to be connected to the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, which has caused uproar over the Senate’s decision to drop the clause mandating real-time electronic transmission of election results.

Nigerians, including prominent opposition politicians like Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi have protested at the National Assembly to kick against the Senate’s rejection of mandatory electronic transmission of election results.
