Naniniwala ang political analyst na si Atty. Jesus Falcis na hindi maganda sa reputasyon ng Senado ang madalas na pagbabago sa liderato nito.
Sa panayam sa programang “At The Forefront” ng Bilyonaryo News Channel, sinabi ni Falcis na magmumukha itong “unstable” at “self-serving”.
Ginawa ni Falcis ang pahayag kasunod ng lumutang na usapin sa Senado noong nakaraang linggo hinggil sa bigo umanong kudeta laban sa liderato ni Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
“It doesn’t look good for the Senate’s reputation that there is no stability in the leadership. It seems like everybody’s just power hungry. Everybody is just out there to protect themselves,” ani Falcis.
“Especially in this context, if the immediate impetus or trigger for the attempted coup is the Blue Ribbon Committee report which will recommend plunder charges against the ‘big 3’, allegedly… but if that’s the impetus, anong perception no’n? Old boys club, which is protect your own,” dagdag niya.
Tinukoy ni Falcis bilang “Big 3” sina Senador Francis Escudero, Jinggoy Estrada, at Joel Villanueva, na kabilang sa mga pinakakasuhan sa kumalat na draft report ng Blue Ribbon Committee kaugnay ng isinagawang imbestigasyon sa flood control scandal. (Angelika Cabral)
