Lagos SSG heads funeral c’ttee for late Akran

LAGOS — THE Lagos State government, yesterday, inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to coordinate the final burial rites of the Akran of Badagry, Oba Babatunde Akran, Wheno Aholu Menu-Toyi I, who recently joined his ancestors.

Recall that the Akran of Badagry, who was also the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs, died January 12 at the age of 89, after a brief illness.

Announcing the setting up of the burial committee, the state government stressed the need for unity, integrity, transparency, and respect for tradition in all the arrangements.

The committee is to be chaired by the Secretary to the Lagos State Government, SSG, Mrs Abimbola Salu Hundeyi, while Nunayon Ahisu and Dr. Olajide Messewaku will serve as the co-Chair and Secretary of the committee, respectively.
