This 1988 Land Rover 90 is a left-hand-drive three-door wagon that was acquired by the seller in 2013 before it was imported from the United Kingdom to the United States. It was subsequently re-powered with a 3.0-liter OM617 turbodiesel inline-five and further modified with an Ashcroft R380 five-speed manual transmission, a high-performance fuel injection pump from DieselPumpUk, an electric cooling fan, later-specification power steering components, LED lighting, a fender-mounted intake, tubular side steps, rear-mounted air conditioning, and aftermarket audio components. Finished in red over black vinyl, the truck also has 16″ Tornado alloy wheels, GlowShift boost and EGT gauges, checker-plate exterior trim, front bucket seats, and inward-facing rear jump seats. This Land Rover 90 is now offered with a dyno sheet, modification and service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

Previously finished in white, the truck was repainted in the current shade of red circa 2013 before it was imported to the US. Exterior revisions include a fender-mounted intake, LED headlights and turn signals, custom rear badging, and checker-plate trim on the hood, front fenders, rocker panels, and rear quarter panels. Additional equipment consists of a hardtop with alpine windows as well as a fender-mounted shovel, a rear tow ball, tubular side steps, tinted rear windows, and a hood mount for an additional spare tire. The seller notes that the right quarter panel was repaired and refinished following contact with a fence, and a 2018 invoice indicates the right front fender was removed and straightened before it was refinished. Bubbles are present on the bottom of the doors, there is a paint blister on the left front fender, and photos of exterior imperfections and the front fender alignment are shown in the gallery below.

The 16″ Tornado alloy wheels are mounted with 265/75/16 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires, and a spare is mounted on the swing-out rear door. Seller tells us that the truck’s power steering system was sourced from a P38 Land Rover Range Rover along with a custom drag link and steering shafts, which utilize custom-fabricated hoses to integrate the Mercedes-Benz steering pump. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.

The cabin features front bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl, and interior appointments include a Bluetooth Pioneer stereo, a Blaupunkt amplifier, a JL Audio subwoofer, a center console with cupholders, and a new rear-mounted air conditioning unit specified for use in a florist delivery van. The seller relays that while the air conditioning temperature controls are located on the dashboard, changing the vent direction requires manual adjustment on the unit itself. Although the stereo head unit is shown mounted upside-down in the photographs, it is now correctly installed. There is a crack in the dashboard above the instrument cluster, there are cracks next to the heater controls, wear is present on the passenger’s seat, and additional photos of interior wear and imperfections are viewable in the gallery below.

The rear cargo area features inward-facing jump seats.

A four-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer and aftermarket gauges. GlowShift boost and EGT gauges have been added to the dashboard. The six-digit odometer shows 21k miles, nearly all of which were added under current ownership. The seller states the odometer reading is inaccurate, and the total mileage is unknown.

The truck was re-powered with a 3.0-liter OM617 turbodiesel inline-five in 2014, and a 120cc performance fuel injection pump with a 7.7mm element from DieselPumpUk and upgraded “Anti-Jerk”  kit was installed in 2018, along with an additional oil feed line and replacement wiring. Work completed by Ferraris and More of Garland, Texas, approximately 2k miles ago in January 2024 totaled over $13k and is detailed on an invoice shown at the end of the gallery. It involved installing a replacement OM617, gear reduction starter, electric cooling fan, Revotec fan controller, A/C compressor, valve cover gasket, radiator hoses, and engine mounts in addition to adjusting the valves, cleaning the injectors, and changing the oil and fuel filters. A dyno sheet from 2021 in the gallery lists an output of 149 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The seller tells us the engine can run on standard diesel, red diesel, biodiesel, and JP1, and notes an oil leak from the rear main seal.

An Ashcroft R380 five-speed manual transmission was installed in October 2018, and it sends power to all four wheels via a dual-range transfer case. Additional photos of the underside condition are viewable in the gallery below.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other reported damage from an initial update in May 2013.
