Gov Fintiri commissions cottage hospital in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Government has officially opened for public use a cottage hospital it built in one of the largest local government areas in the state, Fufore.

The cottage hospital is located in the local government headquarters, Fufore, a town about a 25-minute drive from the state capital, Yola.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, who led other top government officials to the commissioning of the cottage hospital on Saturday, also announced plans to upgrade the facility into a full-fledged general hospital to provide expanded healthcare services to residents.

Fintiri, who expressed satisfaction with the quality of the facility, said it is part of the state government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery, adding that prioritising tertiary and primary healthcare facilities remains a central focus of his administration.

He stressed that the hospital would soon be upgraded to a general hospital to provide high-quality secondary healthcare services to residents of Fufore LGA and communities across the border with Cameroon.
