Muscat – The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund (Inma) has announced the commencement of financing applications for 2026. The initiative forms part of the fund’s ongoing efforts to empower entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to benefit from the range of financing products and services it offers, supporting their businesses and strengthening their role in boosting the national economy.
The total funding provided by the Inma Fund for SMEs during the past year amounted to approximately RO25mn, benefiting nearly 366 enterprises across the governorates of Oman.
Yahya bin Saleh al Siyabi, Head of Marketing at Inma, said the total amount allocated for SME financing this year stands at RO33mn. The funding will be distributed across the fund’s branches in Sohar and Salalah, in addition to its headquarters in Muscat.
He noted that Inma will continue to operate under its previously established procedures and requirements, ensuring beneficiaries’ access to financing while maintaining continuity of support and ease of access to financial services.
In a statement to Oman News Agency, Siyabi said the Inma Fund places significant importance on SMEs as a fundamental pillar of economic development in Oman. He added that the fund focuses on the quality and economic viability of projects, regardless of the sector, while continuing to support priority sectors, most notably tourism, services, infrastructure and transportation, oil and gas, industry, and trade.
He added that the fund is keen to encourage SME owners to sustain their operations by offering flexible repayment periods of up to eight years for certain financing products. This helps ease the financial burden on business owners and supports the sustainability of their operations.
He affirmed that the Inma Fund will continue to offer several benefits to its clients this year, including a field visit programme for SMEs. The programme aims to monitor projects on the ground, assess their performance, and provide necessary guidance and advice to owners, thereby enhancing growth and development opportunities.
