Four changes confirmed: Pirates starting 11 vs TTM

Orlando Pirates return to Nedbank Cup action this afternoon as they Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in the Round of 32 at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

For the Buccaneers, the venue brings back last season’s 2–1 loss to Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup final.

TTM, once a Betway Premiership club after buying Bidvest Wits’ status in 2020, won this title with Dan Malesela, but later the club was forced to sell off their top-flight status.

They eventually rebuilt in the ABC Motsepe League and flooding in Thohoyandou forced the relocation of the match to Durban.

NEDBANK CUP LAST 32: TTM VS ORLANDO PIRATES

Orlando Pirates, meanwhile, have opted for rotation, making four changes to the side. Goalkeeper Sipho Chaine has dropped to the bench, with Buthelezi starting in goal behind a backline that includes Mpho Chabatsane, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Deano van Rooyen, and Deon Hotto.

In midfield, Thalente Mbatha partners Masindi Nemtajela, while Andre de Jong earns his first start in the number 10 role.

Further forward, the attacking unit features Tshepang Moremi, Oswin Appollis and Yanela Mbuthuma. Notably, Relebohile Mofokeng is given a breather.

The bench also reflects depth, with the likes of Patrick Maswanganyi, Sipho Mbule, Evidence Makgopa and Daniel Msendami available should Orlando Pirates need to change the tempo or chase the game.
