This 1958 Studebaker 3E11 Transtar is a ¾-ton pickup that is said to have been with one previous owner when it was purchased by the seller in 2024. The truck is finished in green over brown vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a 245.6ci L-head inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a white-painted fiberglass front clip, turn signals, towing mirrors, bedside tie-down straps, and an under-dash panel housing aftermarket auxiliary gauges. Service performed under the seller’s ownership included the installation of a replacement radiator, exhaust system, and fuel tank. This Transtar is now offered with literature and a transferable New York registration in the seller’s name.

The Transtar line was introduced in 1956 and was refreshed for 1957 with a fiberglass front clip designed by stylist Robert Doehler. Previously finished in yellow, this example underwent a color change to green with white accents under previous ownership. Equipment includes two-tone bumpers, fender-mounted rear turn signals, towing mirrors, chrome window visors, and rear fender stone guards. Chrome bedside tie-downs and diamond-plate steel tailgate backing were installed under previous ownership. The seller notes an area of rust in the cargo bed.

White-painted steel wheels wear chrome Studebaker hubcaps, and they are mounted with Blacklion radial tires. The 3E11 rides on a 122″ wheelbase and features solid axles with leaf springs at all four corners. Stopping is handled by four-wheel hydraulic drums.

The inside of the cab is finished in green with white-painted accents on the dashboard and door panels, and it houses a bench seat trimmed in brown upholstery along with Mack-branded floor mats, lap belts, and black carpets.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 110-mph speedometer as well as gauges for fuel level and engine temperature. A Studebaker-branded panel with auxiliary readouts is mounted below the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 78k miles, approximately 10k of which were added under the seller’s ownership.

The 245.6ci “Big Six” L-head inline-six features a single-barrel carburetor, an oil bath air cleaner, and an external oil filter. Output was rated at 106 gross horsepower. A replacement radiator was installed under current ownership. The seller notes an oil leak.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. A replacement exhaust system and fuel tank were installed under the seller’s ownership. Corrosion on the undersides can be seen in the gallery.

A collection of literature is included in the sale.
The car is being sold on its transferable New York registration, which serves as an ownership document in New York.
