This lot includes a Model 80 gas pump manufactured by The Wayne Pump Company in Salisbury, Maryland, after the company acquired Martin & Schwartz in 1951, and an oil pump. Both the “Script-Top” gas pump and oil tank were refurbished with Sunoco branding. Illuminated scripts, a rubber hose, a dispenser nozzle, and dual three-function registers accent the gas pump, and the oil pump is accentuated by hand-painted pinstriping. These pumps are now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve in Seekonk, Massachusetts.

The Model 80 pump was restored under previous ownership using a mix of replacement and refurbished parts as well as automotive-grade paint. Replacement placards describing the lead content are affixed to the pump.

The “Sunoco Dynafuel” scripts are outlined in pinstripes, and Blue Sunoco decals are adhered to the pump body.

Replacement glass panes and rubber seals protect the illuminated double three-function registers, which indicate sale price in dollars, gallons delivered, and cost per gallon in cents. Hinged doors open to reveal the internal components.

A 1”-thick Thermoid Pumpflex black rubber hose with a chrome-plated aluminum EBW 498 dispenser nozzle is mounted to the side of the pump body.

The identification tag was polished.

The selling dealer believes the oil tank dates to the 1930s or 1940s; it has been refurbished with painted Sunoco Motor Oil logos and pinstripes. A hinged lid covers the pump head. Dings are present around the piece.
