This 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible was first delivered to John Linkous Volkswagen in Charlottesville, Virginia, and it has spent most of its time in Florida. The car is finished in Mars Red over black leatherette and is powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a white convertible soft top, quarter vent windows, dual side mirrors, Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection, 15″ Lemmerz sport steel wheels, a lockable glove box, and a Sony cassette stereo. Purchased by the seller in 2025, this 1303 Super Beetle shows 95k miles and is now offered with a window sticker, the owner’s manual, a tool kit, service records, two sets of keys, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Mars Red and features a white convertible soft top, chrome-finished bumpers, quarter vent windows, dual side mirrors, running boards, and a louvered rear engine cover.

The 15″ Lemmerz sport steel wheels are mounted with Vitour white walls tires, which are said to have been added in preparation for the sale. The car was factory equipped with a MacPherson strut and coil spring front suspension in place of the standard Beetle’s torsion bar setup. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners.

The front bucket seats and the rear bench are upholstered in black leatherette and are complemented by a woodgrain dash panel appliquĂŠ. Interior appointments include a lockable glove box, a Sony cassette stereo, and seat belts. An aftermarket amplifier is stationed in the front trunk.

The four-spoke steering wheel features a Wolfsburg crest and fronts a 100-mph VDO speedometer with an inset fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 95k miles.

The air-cooled 1.6L flat-four was factory equipped with Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection and was rated at 48 horsepower and 73 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to John Linkous Volkswagen in Charlottesville, Virginia, as well as a total price of $6,394. The sale also includes service records, owner’s manuals, a tool kit, and keys.
