After an unproductive start to the 2025-26 trade season, the Golden State Warriors finally made a move.

Unfortunately for Warriors fans, the franchise didn’t complete the trade everyone was anticipating. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Warriors traded Stephen Curry's 6-foot-9 fan favorite teammate to the Toronto Raptors for draft capital.

“The Golden State Warriors have traded center Trayce Jackson-Davis to the Toronto Raptors for a 2026 second-round pick via the Lakers,” Charania wrote on X/Twitter Wednesday night.

“The Raptors acquire some needed size in the frontcourt and use the space, staying under the luxury tax, from the Ochai Agbaji trade earlier Wednesday. Golden State acquires another pick in the 2026 NBA draft.”

Essentially, the Dubs made the trade to land an upcoming draft pick that could eventually become a valuable piece for the organization.

Jackson-Davis' stint with the Warriors officially comes to an end after 2.5 seasons with the seven-time NBA champions. While not a high-level scorer or rebounder, the Indiana product never lacked effort or grit on both ends,

Jackson-Davis' averaged 6.6 points and 4.6 rebounds with the Warriors to begin his career, shooting 63.5% from the field in 166 contests.

With Charania reporting another Warriors trade not involving Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo shortly before the Jackson-Davis-centered deal, it’s safe to say the franchise won’t secure his services this season.
