NAFDAC disowns fake recruitment notice circulating on social media

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has disowned a press release circulating on social media which claims that the agency has opened a recruitment exercise.

In a disclaimer issued on Wednesday and signed by its Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, the agency said the recruitment notice was fake and did not originate from NAFDAC.

“Our attention has been drawn to a fake press release on the planned NAFDAC recruitment exercise circulating on social media,” the statement said.

While noting that the agency conducts recruitment from time to time, NAFDAC stressed that the circulating information was not authorised.

“While NAFDAC from time to time carries out recruitment exercises to engage qualified Nigerians, the press release in circulation and its content are fake,” it added.

The agency urged members of the public to ignore the message and avoid falling victim to fraudsters, stressing that no recruitment exercise has been announced by the agency.

“NAFDAC has not issued any press release announcing new recruitment,” the statement said.

According to the agency, such false recruitment notices are often circulated by individuals seeking to extort money from unsuspecting job seekers under the guise of application or processing fees.

NAFDAC also clarified that all official information from the agency, including recruitment announcements, is communicated only through its verified platforms.

“Authentic information from NAFDAC is published exclusively on the official NAFDAC website and recognised media platforms,” the agency said.

It further advised Nigerians, particularly job seekers, to remain vigilant and always verify information before responding to recruitment-related announcements, warning that the agency does not charge any fee for employment opportunities.
