Priyanka Chopra’s Condition to Rajamouli Before Signing Varanasi

Actress Priyanka Chopra is making her highly anticipated return to Indian cinema after a seven-year hiatus with the upcoming film, Varanasi. In a recent interview, the superstar actress revealed that she had one specific condition before agreeing to join SS Rajamouli’s latest project: she wanted him to let her dance!

Reflecting on her conversation with the Baahubali and RRR director, Priyanka mentioned that she hadn't done an Indian film in about six years. She explained that when he called her to say the female character was really cool and she had to do it, she told him she had one request: that he make her dance, because she hadn't danced in so long. She jokingly added that she should not have asked because they were really dancing, which she described as being a lot. She further noted that Mahesh had teased her, saying it was because of her that he had to do it too.

Mahesh Babu confirmed the high energy on set, adding that it's a sensational song that has been playing in the minds of the duo.

Varanasi features a star-studded cast. While Prithviraj Sukumaran stars as the antagonist. Mahesh Babu will portray Rudhra and Lord Rama. The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on 7 April 2027.
