Man Arrested for Murdering Wife Over Illicit Affair

Nellore:Balaji Nagar police on Monday arrested a man for allegedly murdering his wife, suspecting her of having an illicit relationship.

The accused, Juvvaladinne Sri Hari, 34, of Kotamitta in Nellore, allegedly killed his wife, Chennuru Srinandini alias Juvvaladinne Srinandini, 24. Police registered a murder case based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, Chennuru Uma.

According to police, in the early hours of January 31, the victim arrived from Bengaluru and got down at Chintareddypalem Crossroads. The accused allegedly took her on his scooter under the pretext of dropping her at a bus stop but instead drove her to a vacant site opposite a petrol bunk on Children’s Park Road, where he slit her throat and stabbed her multiple times, killing her on the spot.

The accused was arrested on February 2 and reportedly confessed to the crime during the interrogation. Police seized the knife used in the crime and the scooter.
