This 1963 Porsche 356B cabriolet was acquired by the current owner in 2023 and subsequently underwent a refurbishment, including replacement floors, a reupholstered interior, and an overhaul of the engine. The car has been refinished in Oslo Blue over red leather, and is powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a black soft top, 15″ steel wheels with hubcaps, vent windows, body-color bumpers, and front bucket seats. This 356B cabriolet is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a copy of the Kardex, service records, refurbishment photos, and an Arizona title in the name of the current owner’s family trust.

This Reutter-built body came finished from the factory in Oslo Blue (6203) and was repainted in 2021. The brightwork was re-chromed at that time and a replacement black soft top was installed.

The 15″ vented steel wheels were powder coated during the refurbishment and wear chrome hubcaps and 165/70 Vredestein tires. The car was factory equipped with drum brakes at each corner. The steering box was rebuilt and Sachs shocks were installed in 2023.

The front bucket seats and rear jump seats were fitted with replacement foam padding and reupholstered in red leather in 2023. A matching dash pad and door panels were also installed along with red squareweave carpets, Dynamat sound deadening, and a Porsche-branded radio blanking plate.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames green-letter VDO instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 4,500-rpm redline as well as a combination gauge for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 99k miles.

The 1.6-liter flat-four was overhauled during the refurbishment, including rebuilding the cylinder heads and replacing the valves and bearings. The Zenith carburetors and fuel pump were also rebuilt.

Engine stamping *610965* is shown above, and a corresponding number is listed on the Kardex. A photo of transaxle stamping 65635 is viewable in the gallery.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. A replacement clutch and pressure plate were installed in 2023. The floors were also replaced and an undercoating was applied to the chassis.

The copy of the Kardex lists the factory colors and serial numbers along with a production date of June 21, 1963.

Additional photographs detailing various stages of the refurbishment are provided below.

The Arizona title lists “Not Actual” under the odometer section.
