Muscat – A four-month leadership forum has been launched which brings together senior officials to strengthen government readiness for digital transformation in line with Oman Vision 2040.
Inaugurated on Sunday, the Leadership Forum for Future Readiness is part of the national programme Artaqaa (Ascent). It is organised by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) in partnership with the Royal Academy of Management, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, and the Oman Society for Human Resource Management.
The forum convenes high-ranking officials and decision-makers in structured dialogues on digital transformation, emerging technologies and institutional performance, with the aim of aligning policy decisions with future requirements and promoting a unified government approach.
H E Dr Ali bin Amer al Shidhani, Undersecretary for Communications and Information Technology in MTCIT and Chairman of the Technical Committee of the national digital transformation programme Tahawul, said digital transformation is now a strategic priority led by senior leadership.

“Digital transformation is no longer a peripheral activity but a strategic direction led by senior leadership as the main driver towards the future,” he said, adding that the forum reflects a focus on preparedness as a pillar of national development.
According to organisers, the programme seeks to build a common understanding of advanced technologies and risk management while improving coordination among government entities. Activities include high-level sessions, panel discussions, case studies and interactive simulations led by international experts.
Officials said the forum will support closer alignment among decision-makers, strengthen collective responsibility across government and accelerate the impact of digital transformation, positioning readiness as a core institutional capability for Oman’s future.
