Ant McPartlin has bought a massive new family home worth £10million after a planning dispute at his last house.
The I’m A Celebrity icon has got himself out of London and relocated to a quiet village in Surrey in a new build mansion with wife Anne-Marie Corbett.
The move comes two months after he sold his previous home in Wimbledon, where he ended up clashing with neighbours.
Ant, 50, reportedly denied the move was linked after locals accused him of wanting to cut down several trees ‘on a personal whim’.
The local council had granted permission for his plans to chop down six trees at his £6million home, which he moved into in 2019.
His arrival in this leafy corner of Surrey has caused quite a stir, with locals telling the Mail on Sunday he’s the talk of the town.
‘Apparently, it is a record sale for the area and it’s all anyone is gossiping about,’ one resident said. ‘It is one of the prime private estates in an acre of grounds so he shouldn’t have trouble with the neighbours anymore.’
The presenter has reportedly just signed a £30million deal alongside his best mate Declan Donnelly at ITV, so no wonder he’s splashed out.
The new mansion is said to have cost £1million in stamp duty alone, meanwhile Dec, 50, has purchased his third house on one London street.
Locals have already seen Ant and wife Anne-Marie, 47, out and about with their baby boy Wilder, who they welcomed in May 2024.
The couple started dating in 2018 shortly after Ant had finalised his divorce with his ex-wife, Lisa Armstrong, whom he was married to since 2006.
Another resident shared: ‘He looks very content and is always happy to say hello to people who recognise him but I don’t think he will be bothered too much around here as we are used to all the celebrities packing out the local hostelries.’
Their former home was a three-storey build, boasting five reception rooms, a cinema, sun room, open plan kitchen, study, office and more.
They were initially given permission to fell six trees – four cypress trees, a Weymouth pine and a yew – before neighbours criticised the proposal and insisted there was ‘no justification’ for the plans.
A spokesperson previously told Metro: ‘Ant and Anne-Marie are not moving because of planning issues, they are moving for family reasons.’
The trees are also protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO), and a neighbour argued in an objection letter that ‘the benefit to the community and the environment in retaining these trees’ shouldn’t be overruled by ‘the personal whim of the applicant’.
An insider told the Daily Mail at the time that Ant and Anne-Marie had ‘sunk hundreds of thousands of pounds into their dream home.’
‘It’s surprising after all that they spent on the place but Ant’s got plenty of money to sink into their next home and make it just how they want.’
After the push back, a new proposal was put in place to keep the trees and build around them in an effort to appease locals, before Ant and Anne-Marie decided to move on.
