Sugar Season 2: Colin Farrell Mystery TV Show Gets Release Date, Photos

Apple TV has announced the release date of Sugar Season 2, a neo-noir show starring Oscar nominee Colin Farrell.

In Sugar, Farrell plays John Sugar, a Los Angeles-based private detective with an affinity for films. “Sugar is a contemporary, unique take on one of the most popular and significant genres in literary, motion picture, and television history: the private detective story,” Apple TV’s logline reads.

When is the Sugar Season 2 release date?

Sugar Season 2 will consist of eight episodes, with the first premiering on Friday, June 19, 2026. One episode will be released weekly on Apple TV through August 7.

In Sugar Season 2, “Farrell returns for a new case, tracking the troubled older brother of an up-and-coming local boxer as his search for his beloved missing sister continues,” the official synopsis reads. “As the investigation expands into a citywide conspiracy with sinister intentions, Sugar must reckon with himself to answer the question — how far will he go to do what’s right?”

Sugar Season 2 features a new cast, including Jin Ha, Raymond Lee, Tony Dalton, Laura Donnelly, and Sasha Calle. Shea Whigham will serve as a special guest star.

Sugar is created by Mark Protosevich. Sam Catlin is the showrunner and an executive producer. Additional executive producers include Farrell, Scott Greenberg, Chip Vucelich, Audrey Chon, and Simon Kinberg.

Sugar Season 1 premiered in April 2024 to a positive reception. The show has an 81% on Rotten Tomatoes. The first season featured a plot twist dubbed “one of the greatest in recent TV history.” The cast included Farrell, Kirby, Amy Ryan, Anna Gunn, Dennis Boutsikaris, Nate Corddry, Sydney Chandler, Alex Hernandez, and James Cromwell.
