Former aspirant for the position of National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Chukwuebuka Obidike, has stated that he has no intention of contesting for the office at the party’s forthcoming national convention.
Obidike made the clarification in an interview with our correspondent, dismissing speculations and reports suggesting that he was preparing to re-enter the race for the influential party position. He described such reports as misleading, stressing that he has neither declared nor shown interest in contesting for the office.
The Chief Executive Officer of Clarivo Oil and Gas explained that his decision should not be interpreted as a withdrawal from party activities or a lack of commitment to the APC. Rather, he said it reflects a personal choice to focus on strengthening his business interests while continuing to support the party’s growth in other capacities.
Asked whether he had a preferred aspirant for the position of APC National Youth Leader, Obidike said he has not endorsed any candidate. He noted that the process should remain open, fair, and guided strictly by the party’s constitution and internal democratic principles.
Speaking further, Obidike, who is also the Executive Director of Clarivo Holdings Limited, said that if the APC considers him useful in any other capacity, he would be willing to serve.
He also emphasized the need for unity and discipline within the party as preparations for the national convention gather momentum. According to him, party leaders, delegates, and members must place the collective interest of the APC above personal ambitions, noting that cohesion is critical to the party’s strength and electoral success.
Obidike urged youths within the party to remain constructive, focused, and supportive of the APC leadership, adding that responsible participation and meaningful engagement are essential to sustaining the party’s vision at both national and grassroots levels.
